Lisa Gardner is back with a bang in her newest novel, "Touch and Go." If you have been anxiously anticipating another great read featuring Tessa Leoni, this book will not disappoint.

The author has managed to spin another intriguing tale of murder, betrayal, mystery and excitement worthy of her reader's high expectations.

As I read this book, I was once again reminded that some authors are so good at their craft, that even a seasoned reader can't figure out the end of the book before they get there, no matter how hard you might try.

I felt really close to the main character in this book. She was a good mother, compassionate, struggling with her own demons and yet the type of character that you know will be strong when she has to be.

Dialogue wise, this author has managed to speak through the voice of a teenaged girl, an adult woman and various male characters and made me believe it all. She truly has a gift for creating dialogue that pleases the reader and feels like and actual conversation.

One thing that pleased me about this and previous novels by this author, is that she does her research and it shows. She has flawless descriptions of crime procedures and her protagonists are tough.

When you pick up this book, be prepared to find an antagonist that will make you dislike them to your very core. No one writes twisted individuals better.

My favorite part of this book (and the whole thing was very good) was the end. Toward the last couple of chapters, when you think you know exactly how it will end, there is another unexpected twist.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves Lisa Gardner, and those who haven't read anything by her as of yet, will want to once they get their hands on this book!

There is a reason why she has become the master of suspenseful novels, and this latest offering proves it.

Nothing says great storyline like a good old-fashioned kidnapping! Libby Denbe, devoted wife and mother of eighteen years, believed she had it all--or did she? Material things to the outside world makes a person appear as though they have it together, but do they really?

Being married to the alpha male, Justin Denbe, who inherited his father's construction business, Denbe Construction, at the tender ager of 27-years old, made his father's business grow twice the amount after his father's untimely death. But there are some things that money certainly can't buy, which the Denbe family soon found out after three very powerful men, stormed upon their home taking the entire family from all that they knew.

Libby starts off telling the reader what her pain tastes like. Her flavor of choice, oranges. The ordeal she and her family journey through is one hell of a roller coaster ride, with all the twists and turns one suspecting reader can handle. This was an outstanding book, and needless to say, will most definitely keep you turning the pages.

What you think is happening, may not be what you expect. One thing the Denbes soon learn is that the family life they share, with all its money and power, and love, isn't exactly what their family was truly about. Excellent read, and you'll enjoy the suspense!
I'm writing this review to encourage readers who haven't tried a Lisa Gardner book yet to do so. A friend loaned me a book by her last year and with no preconceptions, I read it and was blown away by it. So I tried a second book by her. I just finished TOUCH AND GO and it certainly did not disappoint! Two knock-outs in a row means I now have a new author I can't wait to read! There's nothing better than discovering that, right? If you are like me and hesitate to try authors you haven't yet read, I understand. More often than not, they aren't worth my time. However, this book and this author really are worthy of your time. I like John Verdon, Lynwood Barclay, John Grisham, Dennis Lahane, Harlen Cobin, Jeffery Deaver, Tess Gerritson, etc and Lisa Gardner fits right in there with them, she is THAT good! So if you like any of the authors I've mentioned, I'm positive you will like Lisa Gardner. Do yourself a favor and give her a try. I bet you'll be glad you did.
